About Me
My name
is Katherine Larkin. My friends call me Katie. I am a native Kansan and have
lived all my life right here in Topeka. I have a number of hobbies. They
include reading, writing, playing video games and painting. I live in town in
an apartment with my boyfriend. My family lives in Topeka as well. My father is
recently retired. He was in the US Army and worked for a state-wide
association. My mother currently works
at Brewster Place. My grandmother is a retired nurse and is currently residing
in Atria Senior Living. I have two brothers. The oldest is named Andy. He graduated
from college in 2015. My younger brother
is named Mikey and is currently studying business at the University of Kansas.
I have a
yellow Labrador retriever named Biscuit. She is 13 years old and I think she is
the best dog in the world. She’s very soft, very sweet and very cute. My
boyfriend is named Justin, he and I have been together for over a year and I
hope I get to spend the rest of my life with him.
I have
been interested in mass media since elementary school. I've been told by both
past teachers and others that I'm a good writer. I hope to put my writing to
use as a career.
Most
recently I was a student at Johnson County Community College prior to my
enrollment at Washburn University. While there I majored in graphic design. I
realized while at JCCC that writing was my true passion. Since I transferred to
Washburn, I changed my major to journalism. I feel very comfortable at Washburn
and know it is a good fit for me. I'm excited to start this school year and look
forward to learning new things.
